Senior Interview / 4. Sigrid Calon

We met Sigrid Calon at FuoriMICRO in Milano just few weeks ago and it was love at first sight. Grid, colours, shapes, composition, complexity, neatness, dutchness at its best. She was there to present her sumptuous book To the extend of / \ | & - Within the grid and beyond the pattern. This Risograph Lady resulted to be a solid visual artist, fluidly operating both in small and environmental size. We really appreciate the impeccable care and coherence of her work, the strong artisanal core, the harmony between the playful and conceptual attitude. We highly recommend to discover her sharply crafted universe, you won't be disappointed.

Restless Mirabilia / A Nomadic Wunderkammer

This is a portable cabinet of wonders, a monument to our inexhaustible curiosity about the world and our need to explore it by gathering objects which are precious, irregular and emblematic. Every life is an encyclopedia, dominated by an endless chaotic order.

By first considering historical precedents, we imagine a traveling wunderkammer, more like an atlas than a museum, a piece of luggage both useless and essential, constantly changing. This lightweight collection seeks to capture a whole which is potential,  conceptual, multiple and decorative all at once.

Tasty Shapes

We are glad to be with two projects at PROGETTO CIBO - La forma del gusto by Beppe Finessi, exhibited in the quality MART museum in Rovereto (Trento) - investigating the multiple relations between food and design. Our Slow Wood sandwich and our pasta shaped Avventurina from our last Opuscula Miscellanea are in really good company!
